Dennis Pitta has been placed on Baltimore's short-term injured reserve list.
This means Pitta will have the chance at playing again at some point this season. The earliest he can come back to the field would be in Week 9, though he's not expected to have the opportunity to play again until at least late November or December.
There's still a chance that Pitta does not play at all this season.
With Pitta no longer counting toward the 53-man roster total, the Ravens re-signed tight end Billy Bajema to take his place.
Bajema's signing rounds out a tight end group that features himself, Ed Dickson and Dallas Clark.
