Muschamp offers McBride

After Friday Night Lights, Will Muschamp offered 2017 linebacker Nate McBride a scholarship...

It has been a good summer for Nate McBride.

The 2017 linebacker out of Vidalia, Ga. has picked up scholarship offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and now Florida.

He was at Friday Night Lights to compete and he received the big news at the end of the night.

"After the camp, I ate in the Champion's Club, and Coach Muschamp came over to talk to me for a bit," said McBride. "He had to go talk to an upperclassman for minute, then we went up to his office, and that is when he offered me.

"We talked for a while, he was real nice, and I could tell he loved Florida and football. He talked to me about not usually offering guys my age, but he said that really liked me and that I am good enough to get the offer."

Florida will now begin to really recruit the 6-foot-2, 210 pound sophomore. One coach he will be in contact with is D.J. Durkin and McBride worked under him Friday night.

"I really like Coach Durkin a lot. He is a really good coach and we talked some at the camp. He said he really liked me -- he liked my quickness, my footwork, my speed, and my length."

Now that the Gators have offered McBride, UF is on his radar. He has never had a favorite school, but he does plan to see the Gators play this fall.

"Florida is a really good school," said McBride. "I like their facilities, their stadium is nice, and I liked how they ran the camp.

"I have always watched college football in general, so I have not had a favorite team or anything. I have watched Florida because they have good teams.

"It is great to get an offer from Florida and I will try to get down there for a game or two this year. I have some interest in Florida -- It is a great school."

McBride has been timed at under 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash at numerous camps/events.
