Johnson, a lanky corner, has impressed NFL scouts with his strength and physicality during workouts and at the NFL combine. He plays faster than his 40-yard dash time of 4.52, as the eye test pops out on his film. A few months ago, the Ravens may have felt like they had a great chance to grab him. But since, Johnson has moved up many mock drafts and could go in the top 20.
If Johnson were to slip and fall to 26, the Ravens would probably grab him in a heartbeat. The Ravens could use another cornerback for depth purposes, given the situation that happened last year. Though Jimmy Smith was locked up to a long-term extension, it may be time to go ahead and invest for the future.
Plus, behind Smith and Lardarius Webb, there's not much proven depth. A solid third corner in a pass-happy league would be extremely important.
