You can never have enough defensive line depth.
That's certainly a philosophy the Ravens abide by and something they made sure of in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. With the 90th overall pick, the Ravens selected Iowa defensive tackle Carl Davis.
Davis was a two-time All-Big Ten selection at Iowa and started each game over his final two seasons with the Hawkeyes. Davis plays with a lot of power on the defensive line and has that prototypical style the Ravens are generally attracted to. He's great against the run but could improve or show more as a pass-rusher.
Given the depth of the defensive line, even without Haloti Ngata, Davis would have some time to learn along the line.
This was the first defensive player the Ravens selected in this year's draft. Positions of need that are still out there are pass-rusher and running back.
