The Ravens' plan is to keep Sam Koch on board as the team's punter.
But can they afford to do so?
According to a team source, the Ravens and Koch are only a total of $1.65 million apart when it comes to negotiating a new contract. That's roughly an average of $330,000 per season on what both sides want to be a five-year deal. It's a bit of a dead period right now but something is expected to be done about this in early July.
Koch averaged a career-best 47.4 yards per punt in 2014. He was also benefited by only having to attempt a career-low 60, making the most of each punt. His net punting average was also a career-best at 43.3 yards per punt.
