Ravens sign Salave'a, cut Thomas

OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens re-signed veteran defensive lineman Joe Salave'a on Monday a week after he didn't make their final roster cut.

As a vested veteran, the Ravens would have been on the hook for his salary for the entire season if he had been on the roster for the opening week.

Baltimore (0-1) made room for Salave'a by releasing reserve offensive guard Jason Thomas.

Salave'a was saddled with a knee injury for most of camp but returned to health against the Giants with a sack and a forced fumble.
