Resume: Four-year starter was a second-team All-Big East selection as a senior with 25 tackles, two sacks and 17 pass deflections.
Outlook: Will need to demonstrate the big-play ability he flashed on occasion in college.

70 Matt Zielinski

Year: Rookie
College: Duke
Acquired: Free agent, 2004
Resume: All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection was a three-time winner of Blue Devils' Outstanding Defensive Lineman Award. Had 75 tackles, 18 for losses with seven sacks as a senior.
Outlook: Has made an immediate impression on defensive line coach Rex Ryan and could earn a spot on expanded, eight-man practice squad.

71 Jesse Mitchell

Acquired: Free agent, 2004
Resume: All-Southeastern Conference choice had 46 tackles, 10 ½ for losses with two sacks as a senior.
Outlook: Undersized lineman is adept at shooting through gaps.

Resume: Had one tackle last season, but started for the Rhein Fire this summer and drew double-team attention.
Outlook: Contender for playing time behind starter Kelly Gregg after strong NFL Europe campaign.

Acquired: Free agent, 2001
Resume: Substitute nose guard registered 10 tackles and a sack last season with four solo tackles in September against the Cleveland Browns.
Outlook: Massive two-gapper has become a key portion of short-yardage defense and primary fronts.

94 Marques Douglas

Acquired: Free agent, 2001
Resume: Starting right end recovered from anterior cruciate ligament tear in 2002 to record 63 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles. Had 10 tackles in playoff loss to Tennessee.
Outlook: Set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season, Douglas is a hustling pass rusher who continually presses the pocket.

95 Jarret Johnson

Acquired: Fourth round, 2003
Resume: Reserve defensive end had 11 tackles and no sacks last season after finishing with 23 sacks in college to rank second all-time behind the late Derrick Thomas. 
Outlook: Solid backup to Marques Douglas lauded for work ethic, technique.

97 Kelly Gregg

Acquired: Free agent, 2000
Resume: Stout, blue-collar nose guard was signed to a long-term contract before end of a season where he finished with career-high 87 tackles and three sacks. 
Outlook: Reliable, hard-working football player is active in pursuit and hard to budge at the line of scrimmage.

98 Tony Weaver

Year: 3
College: Notre Dame
Acquired: Second round, 2002
Resume: Two-year starter collected five sacks despite being hampered by a neck injury last season. Sack and forced fumble on Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich led to a Matt Stover field goal. Recorded two sacks against the St. Louis Rams.
Outlook: Anchor at left end is Ravens' best all-around athlete on the defensive line. Might produce more as a pass rusher if he was operating on the right side.

99 Dwan Edwards
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 315 Age: 22
Year: Rookie
College: Oregon State
Acquired: Second round, 2004
Resume: Second-team All-Pacific 10 Conference choice registered 159 career tackles with 12 ½ sacks, 30 tackles for losses, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Edwards had 51 tackles, three sacks and two fumble recoveries as a senior.
Outlook: Immediate part of defensive line rotation, could eventually wind up starting at end opposite Tony Weaver.
