Ravens set for camp

OWINGS MILLS - The Baltimore Ravens check into Westminster July 29 and will begin training camp with a practice the next morning at McDaniel College.

The defending AFC North champions are entering their ninth training camp in Carroll County and will hold 29 practices over a 26-day camp that concludes Aug. 24.

The morning practices begin at either 8:45 a.m. or 9:30 a.m., with afternoon workout set for either 3 or 4 p.m. The Ravens' annual intrasquad scrimmage is scheduled for Aug. 6 at Scott S. Bair Stadium at 6 p.m.

Practice times are subject to change, and fans can check for updated information by calling 410-261-FANS (3267).

The team returns all but one starter, including NFL Defensive Player of the Year Ray Lewis and NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jamal Lewis

This Friday at 10 a.m., the team begins its single-ticket sales and anticipates all eight regular-season games will be sold out by the end of the day. All sales will be completed through TicketMaster, not at M&T Bank Stadium.

Tickets can be purchased over the phone at 410-547-SEAT (7328) or online at www.ticketmaster.com or www.baltimoreravens.com

The Ravens have already sold 64,000 season tickets for 69,084 seat M&T Bank Stadium.

"If our sales are a barometer, fans are very excited about our team," said Baker Koppelman, the Ravens' director of ticket sales and operations. "We basically had a 100-percent renewal from last year and have sold another 2,000 over that.

"I'd be surprised if we had any tickets for a regular-season game left after Friday, and we'll only have about 2,000 tickets for each of the two preseason home games left."
