Ravens Camp Report: Monday Notes

MUM'S THE WORD: Billick declined to pour more verbal gasoline on the feud between Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro wide receiver Terrell Owens and the Ravens. The teams face off Friday night in Philadelphia.

"I like Ray Lewis' approach," Billick said. "I don't know why I would mention him in my press conference."

TRAINING ROOM: Rookie tight end Nick Eller sprained his right ankle and is considered day-to-day. Cornerback Fred Weary (quadriceps/knee), linebacker Peter Boulware (knee), quarterback Anthony Wright (shoulder), tight end Trent Smith (leg), tight end Brett Pierce (ankle), running back B.J. Sams (thumb), return specialist Derek Abney (shoulder), defensive tackle Matt Zielinski (knee), offensive guard Casey Rabach (knee) and offensive tackle Orlando Brown (family illness) didn't practice.

Wide receiver Travis Taylor (groin) returned to practice along with running back Musa Smith (personal reasons).

ROOKIE HAZING: Defensive end Dwan Edwards and wide receiver Devard Darling, the team's two top draft picks, were taped together to a goal post by several veterans. The rookies were pelted with Gatorade, ice water and shaving cream. Later, safety Marcell Allmond was taped up and escorted toward the dreaded cold tub.

"That's part of being a rookie," Darling said. "If you fight it, it's going to be worse. You might as well take it like a man. It burns right now."
