Ravens' Zastudil out three to four weeks

OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens' latest casualty is punter Dave Zastudil, and his absence for the next three to four weeks because of a separated left shoulder will necessitate signing a replacement this week.

Backup quarterback Kordell Stewart's short-lived punting stint will be confined to his five punts for a 35.4 average in the Ravens' 20-17 overtime win Sunday over the New York Jets.

"Kordell has been a joy to have around, but it was not exactly how I envisioned Kordell entering a game and impacting it," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "I love Kordell, but I don't want to see him back there punting a whole lot more, even though he did a great job."

Stewart's initial practice try completely missed the net and sailed 45 yards over the bench area, but he wasn't fazed and went on to down two inside the 20 when it counted.

The Ravens will audition several punters this week. Knowing special teams coordinator Gary Zauner's tendencies, the team already has a few names in mind.

"One of Gary Zauner's strengths is he's always got someone in his back pocket," Billick said.
