Quick Ravens notes

The Ravens moved their training camp reporting date up three days to July 27 with practice opening the next morning at McDaniel College. The team has scheduled an Aug. 5 scrimmage against the Washington Redskins at noon at FedEx Field. All practices are open to the public except Aug. 7.

The Ravens open the preseason at home against the New York Giants (Aug. 11) and the Philadelphia Eagles (Aug. 17), closing on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (Aug. 25) and the Redskins (Aug. 31).

Linebacker Ray Lewis (hamstring), center Mike Flynn (knee), Moore (hernia), wide receiver Mark Clayton (hamstring) and cornerback Chris McAlister (toe) didn't practice. Fullback Alan Ricard (leg) was limited in drills.

Jamal Lewis, fullback Ovie Mughelli, Pryce, offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden, safety Ed Reed and linebacker Terrell Suggs didn't attend the voluntary workout.

Linebacker Adalius Thomas returned to work after missing the prior two days of practice.

Cornerback Samari Rolle was at the training complex, but didn't practice.

One day removed from fights between center Jason Brown and linebacker Mike Smith and other defenders, there was no recurring violence. "It was spirited in a negative way," Billick said of an incident that prompted him to halt practice and make the team run sprints.

The Ravens were assigned German offensive lineman Samuel Gutekunst to their practice squad for the entire season as part of an NFL international development program. Gutekunst played eight games for the NFL Europe champion Frankfurt Galaxy, starting once.
