Camp Update 8/6

TheBaltimore Ravens practiced pretty poorly on Tuesday morning. The coaches couldn't coach, the offense couldn't move and the defense was beaten up nearly beyond recognition.
Baltimore's‘D' was without the services of starting cornerback Gary Baxter (hamstring) and starting defensive end Anthony Weaver (high ankle sprain).

Veteran cornerbackJames Trapp took most of Baxter's reps and defensive tackle Kelly Gregg filled in for Weaver.

Baxter said he would likely miss the Ravens' preseason opener vs. the Lions on Friday and Weaver will be out at least a week. Safety Chad Williams worked some in practice, but he's nursing his own leg injury, leaving rookie free agent Will Demps to get most of the first team work at right safety.

However, while the defense was beat up, the offense was bogged down and turnover ridden.Quarterback Chris Redman had three passes batted down in a two-minute drill and the offense never crossed midfield. Later, in 7 on 7 drillls, he was picked off twice for would be touchdowns.

The offense also suffered from a bad case of the dropsies, with receivers dropping balls left and right.

Ravens headcoach Brian Billick said the team practiced poorly because the coaching staff didn't do a good enough job of motivating them.
