Ravens announce cuts

The Baltimore Ravens continued to trim their roster down in anticipation of reaching a final assortment of 53 players. The players let go to get closer to the NFL's roster limit of 65 players weren't unexpected names, as they hadn't contributed heavily in preseason play or contended for first or second-string status on the depth chart.

The Ravens released: Josh Bright (TE, 6-5, 235, R, Delta State); Alan Cox (P, 6-1, 196, R, Washington State); Gary Davis (LB, 6-0, 235, R, New Mexico) Dawani Fladger (T, 6-4, 310, R, South Carolina State); Louis Green (LB, 6-3, 228, R, Alcorn State); Sean Gregory (RB, 5-11, 214, R, Georgia Tech); Derek Homer (RB, 5-8, 197, 1, Kentucky); D.J. Humphries (WR, 6-4, 205, R, Presbyterian); Cleo Lemon (QB, 6-2, 226, R, Arkansas State); Josh McKibben (DT, 6-2, 285, R, Central Florida); Josh Robinson (S, 5-10, 190, R, Idaho State);Brian Smith (LS, 6-1, 280, R, Hawaii) and Jeremy Unertl (S, 6-1, 210, R, Wisconsin-LaCrosse).

 The Ravens waived injured offensive tackle Dave Pruce (6-8, 295, R, New York State-Buffalo).

The Ravens have an NFL Europe roster exemption for receiver Kenyon Hambrick. They must cut two players by 4 p.m. today to get down to the 65-player limit.

Baltimore removed veteran defensive end Michael McCrary from the physically unable to perform list.

He said he hopes to see his first action since injuring his knee last season with a few repetitions Thursday night in the preseason finale against the New York Giants.
