Jarret Johnson Q&A

OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Jarret Johnson's reaction to his new three-year, $13 million deal. Johnson replaces departed All-Pro outside linebacker Adalius Thomas. Here are his comments:

On being back with Baltimore: "I'm excited. I was a little worried because there was a period of time when I was preparing myself to leave. But everything worked out."
On becoming a starter after being a backup: "That's a big thing. I can focus on one job. I enjoyed what I did before, but this is exciting."
On the defense returning everyone except Thomas: "It's hard to leave a defense like that and go somewhere else where the defense is not going to be as good. It's hard to walk away from good players like that.
On being happy the Ravens decided to keep him: "It just goes to show how confident they are in you. You always know they like you. But when they come out and show it to you, it's a nice compliment.
On the outlook for the team: "There are obviously some holes we have to fill. There's a lot of things that have to happen to fill those holes. But we definitely have the talent to make another run again."
