Ravens showing interest in RB

OWINGS MILLS -- Which veteran NFL running back are the Baltimore Ravens interested in? Subscribers, please click inside for further details.

After losing lead blocker Ovie Mughelli to the Atlanta Falcons with the richest fullback contract in NFL history (five years, $18 million, $5 million signing bonus), the Ravens are seeking a replacement and have identified former Detroit Lions fullback Cory Schlesinger as a potential candidate to fill the void.

The 6-foot, 247-pound blocker has played in the NFL for 13 seasons with the Lions, paving the way for several 1,000-yard rushers.

In 181 games and 87 starts, he has rushed for 473 yard and five touchdowns while catching 197 passes for 1,445 yards and nine touchdowns. His strength is in his blocking, though.

The Ravens are one of several teams interested in Schlesinger. No visit or deal is imminent.
