Demps Back In Action

It looks like Will Demps is back. The Ravens' rookie safety worked with the starting defense in Monday's practice and will likely open next Monday's game vs. the Denver Broncos.

Demps' insertion into the starting lineup probably means veteran safety
Anthony Mitchell will get bumped back into a reserve role. Demps surprised the Ravens and locked up a starting job during the preseason, but dislocated his right elbow in the exhibition game vs. the New York Giants. Since then, he's been wearing a brace and hasn't even practiced much.

The move will improve the Ravens' secondary. Coaches had been unhappy with
the preseason play of Mitchell, who was penciled in all off-season as a
starter.

Now, the Ravens get Demps back and hope he can deliver the big-play style
he displayed in the preseason. If he is reinserted as a starter, it will gave
the Ravens two rookies at safety, will first rounder Ed Reed manning the
other spot.
