In an effort to improve their depth behind rookie safeties Ed Reed and Will Demps, the Baltimore Ravens signed Raymond Perryman to their practice squad.
Perryman is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound safety who was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft with the 158th overall selection out of Northern Arizona.
The Ravens released offensive lineman Jim Jones from his spot on the practice squad.
Perryman was released from the Raiders' practice squad before the season began. He started eight games for NFL Europe's Amsterdam Admirals this summer, finishing third on the team in tackles with 43 and intercepted two passes.
He finished his college career with 271 tackles and was a two-time All-Big Sky Conference selection, doubling as a linebacker and safety.
