Ngata in the house

OWINGS MILLS — Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata took part in a voluntary passing camp Wednesday as he returned to the team's training complex for practice for the first time since participating in a mandatory minicamp last month.

Ngata, who entered the NFL after his junior season at the University of Oregon, just finished a semester of classes at the University of Utah and remains a few credits shy of completing his sociology degree requirements.

Also, Ngata's wife is due to give birth next month.

Ngata has been working out with a personal trainer to remain in shape.

In three NFL seasons, the former first-round draft pick has started every game and recorded 149 career tackles, five sacks and three interceptions.
