Rookie Reviews: Week 5

The final scores are in the books and Draft Breakdown is here to update you on how some of the top rookies in the 2009 draft performed in week 5 of the NFL season.

Everette Brown – DE – Panthers
The former Florida State pass rusher reached a milestone this week against the Redskins. Brown recorded his first career sack this week and also added a forced fumble and 2 tackles in the win.

Mike Wallace – WR – Steelers
Wallace is starting to become a favorite target for Roethlisberger. Wallace ended the game with 2 catches for 52 yards and 1 touchdown, his first of the season.

Hakeem Nicks – WR – Giants
Nicks had another strong game this week and seems to be close to 100% after his injury. Nicks added 4 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown in the easy win against the Raiders.

Jeremy Maclin – WR – Eagles
The former Missouri wideout had his breakout game this week against the Bucs as the Eagles welcomed Donovan McNabb back to the lineup. Maclin blew up the Bucs secondary, recording 6 catches for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Aaron Curry – LB – Seahawks
The Seahawks were all over the Jags this week, recording their second shutout of the season. Curry has proven to be an integral part of the Seattle defense and is making a case for defensive rookie of the year. Curry finished the game with 9 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in the blowout.

Austin Collie – WR – Colts
Collie has stepped up to fill the shoes of injured WR Anthony Gonzalez in Indianapolis. While he's certainly benefiting from having the best quarterback in the league throwing him the ball, Collie had a huge week. In the end, Collie racked up 8 catches for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns in the prime time win over the Titans.
