Ravens allocate six to NFL Europe

OWINGS MILLS - NFL Europe beckons for six inexperienced members of the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens allocated offensive guard Mike Collins and Lawrence Smith to the Amsterdam Admirals while sending running back Dameon Hunter to the Barcelona Dragons and receiver Marc Lester to the Frankfurt Galaxy. Offensive guard Jim Jones was assigned to the Rhein Fire by the Ravens. And defensive tackle Nate Bolling was assigned to the Scotland franchise by Baltimore.

NFL teams generally send young, unproven players to Europe to gain some seasoning after a year of relative inactivity on the practice squad or reserve duty.

NOTES: Former Maryland Terrapins quarterback Shaun Hill was allocated to the Admirals by the Minnesota Vikings. Former Ravens running back Tellis Redmon was also sent to the Admirals by the Seattle Seahawks, and Baltimore's seventh-round selection from last season, Wes Pate, was sent to the Galaxy by the Seahawks.
