Quarterback: C-minus Joe Flacco threw a critical interception to middle linebacker Gary Brackett on a pass intended for Ray Rice deep in Colts territory in the final minutes, costing the Ravens a chance to possibly put the game away. Flacco completed 23 of 35 passes for 256 yards and no touchdowns for a 75.4 quarterback rating.

Flacco wasn't sharp throughout the game despite a few good throws. It was an extremely pivotal turnover. The passing game seems simplistic.

Running back: B
Ray Rice had a strong game, rushing for 71 yards on 20 carries and catching seven passes for 64 yards as he eluded several linebackers in the open field. However, Willis McGahee was stuffed twice at the 1-yard line and Baltimore had to settle for a field goal. Perhaps fullback Le'Ron McClain should have gotten the call in that situation.

Receiver: C-plus
In particular, Derrick Mason did a nice job of creating separation and catching the football with the exception of one drop. He caught a season-high nine passes for 142 yards. The rest of the receivers were way too quiet with tight end Todd Heap gutting it out to catch a couple passes despite sore ribs.

Offensive line: C-plus
They opened some fairly big holes for Ray Rice to scamper through and Joe Flacco wasn't sacked. Offensive tackles Jared Gaither and Michael Oher contained speedy defensive ends Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. They were held without a sack for the first time this season. The lack of push up the middle on the Colts' big goal-line stand was a major breakdown.

Defensive line: C-plus
They did a nice job of disrupting Peyton Manning's passing lanes. Although they didn't sack Manning, at least they made him speed up his throws and get rid of the ball. Dwan Edwards had three tackles and a forced fumble. Haloti Ngata had a bad unnecessary roughness penalty for piling on Pierre Garcon after he was already tackled.

Linebacker: C-plus
Jarret Johnson flopped over to fill in for an injured Terrell Suggs and played very well with six tackles. Ray Lewis got juked by Joseph Addai on his touchdown run. He forced a big fumble on tight end Tom Santi near the goal line and finished with eight tackles. However, Lewis' pass coverage is becoming suspect. Paul Kruger didn't play much.

Secondary: A-minus
Although Peyton Manning passed for 299 yards, he was intercepted twice as Ed Reed and Dawan Landry picked him off. He was clearly off his usual sterling game, and was limited to one touchdown pass. Their coverage was much better than usual.

Special teams: B
Newly-signed kicker Billy Cundiff tied former kicker Matt Stover's single-game record with five field goals. As the replacement for Steve Hauschka, he knocked in kicks from 46 yards, 44 yards, 38 yards, 36 yards and 20 yards. He missed a 30-yarder wide right that was preceded by a high snap from long snapper Matt Katula. Sam Koch only punted twice, averaging 43 yards. Ed Reed's decision to lateral the football on a punt return to end the game was extremely ill-advised as he fumbled it away. This isn't the first time that Reed has made a bad decision on an unnecessary lateral. Kick returner Lardarius Webb averaged 26.3 yards on three returns.
