Sergio Kindle travels to Baltimore

Baltimore Ravens injured rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle traveled to Baltimore from Texas on Sunday to be examined by doctors after fracturing his skull in late July and being sidelined for the entire preseason.

The second-round draft pick from the University of Texas is scheduled to undergo a series of neurological exams. Kindle will have to pass a physical before he can be signed to an NFL contract.

As an unsigned player, Kindle isn't currently on the roster and hasn't been given any designation as far as the reserve physically unable to perform list. He's expected to be placed on that list eventually and would have to miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season.

Kindle is extremely upbeat about his prospects and hopes to be playing football as soon as October. However, he has to be medically cleared, sign a contract and get into football shape. "Its official, i'll be wear'n number 94!!!" Kindle wrote on his official Twitter account. "ima sit out some games but look for ya boy on that field sometime next month!! King Serg. ..

"Whats good world! Ya boy is up get'n ready for my flight to B-More!! Yea buddy...IM BACK!!
