GOOD DAY / BAD DAY

Quarterback Mike Watkins, who has no shot to make the team, had a strong day, throwing deep completions to Justin Skaggs and Latef Grim. He did it against the first and second defenses, too. Another deep ball should have been completed to Darnerien McCants, who got past Champ Bailey. But the ball bounced off McCants' hands and into Bailey's.

Rookie Rod Gardner had his way with corner Darrell Green all afternoon, beating him for long gains several times. At least twice he got past Green at the line of scrimmage, hauling in passes.

BAD DAY
Offensive lineman Jason Schwab was released. That qualifies as bad.

Receiver Darnerien McCants dropped too many passes in practice.

Quarterbacks Sage Rosenfels and Tony Banks spent the afternoon
overthrowing receivers or throwing interceptions
