NFL handicapper passes on RG3's season odds

One NFL handicapper site listed odds for season-long yardage list. Some Redskins were listed, but not the starting QB.

Today wasn't intended on us looking lots at the gambling dark arts, but somehow that's happened. In this case, the good folks at Bovada put out odds on various individual stat categories. Specifically, who lead the NFL in passing, rushing and receiving yards during the 2015 regular season.

Alfred Morris and DeSean Jackson represent the Washington Redskins on their respective lists. Both are outside the upper echelon, but have some value. Morris (20-1) enters the season with a hold on the backfield touches; we'll see if Matt Jones can stay healthy long enough to steal away touches. Jackson (50-1) is one of the league's best home run threats, capable of going for 50 yards on every play.

As for the quarterback, Robert Griffin III did not make the cut. Nick Foles, Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston are among the names listed. Those three are seemingly safe with their starting jobs. Perhaps Bovada fears RGIII could lose the gig for reasons other than injury. Or, maybe they're just not believers at all even though we're talking yardage, not wins.

Non-Redskin thoughts on these lists (for informational purposes only, of course)...Liking the odds for quarterbacks Matt Ryan with Carson Palmer as a flyer. Also jump on Tom Brady if convinced he misses zero games. ...Runnings backs: Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray...Receivers: Julio Jones among the favorites with DeAndre Hopkins, Brandin Cooks and Jordan Matthews further down the list.
