Preview: Redskins-Jaguars cap preseason

Focusing on the basics as the Redskins close out the preseason Thursday against Jaguars.

Considering the events over the last week dominated all headlines, here's a quick reminder: The Washington Redskins' preseason finale takes place Thursday night.

Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars at Washington Redskins

Game: Thursday, Sept. 3

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

Where: FedEx Field

Television: Comcast SportsNet/NBC-4

Radio: Redskins Radio Network (Washington - 980 AM)

Odds: Redskins (-4.5), Over/Under 40

Three things to watch:

  1. It's the final cut-down - The Redskins must trim the roster from 75 to 53 by Saturday, which makes Thursday the final opportunity Rashad Ross, Trey Williams, Houston Bates and others battling to stick around.
  2. Solo artist -  Colt McCoy is expected to play the entire game at quarterback. Kirk Cousins will sit out with the other starters. Robert Griffin III remains in the NFL's concussion protocal program.
  3. Bumps and bruises - Stating the obvious, but no injuries would be a good thing.
