Cowboys WR Dez Bryant breaks foot; surgery expected

The Cowboys lost DeMarco Murray during the offseason and now lost Dez Bryant for several weeks.

The old saying, "Won the battle, but lost the war" may apply to the Dallas Cowboys right now.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a broken foot in the Cowboys' thrilling 27-26 win over NFC East rival New York Giants.

Should the Pro Bowler miss the full six weeks, Bryant would miss five games; Dallas' bye is in Week 6.

Starting in Week 2, the Cowboys play at Philadelphia, Atlanta, at New Orleans, New England followed by a rematch with New York after the bye week.

The Redskins and Cowboys don't meet for the first of two regular season meetings until Week 13.

Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley are the Cowboys' top wide receivers with Bryant out.

Despite the injury, Bryant couldn't help himself with a lod celebration shortly after quarterback Tony Romo executed a comeback drive capped by a Jason Witten touchdown reception with seven seconds remaining. Be warned: The language, NSFW in some spots.

Bryant tweeted after the win.
