Report: Redskins CB Chris Culliver suffers season-ending knee injury

Redskins CB Chris Culliver's newest knee injury puts his status for Sunday's first place showdown -- and beyond -- in jeopardy.

Just when the Redskins were finally getting a chance to see what might happen with a deep secondary group, Chris Culliver suffered a right knee injury at Thursday's practice.

Head coach Jay Gruden didn't offer any immediate information on the severity during his press conference, but he didn't dismiss the injury as usual wear and tear either. Culliver, who previously missed games with a left knee injury, was spotted in the locker room following practice with a sizeable brace on his right leg and using crutches.

UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Culliver suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL.

The Redskins and New York Giants meet Sunday at FedEx Field in a battle for first place in th NFC East. Limiting the Giants' passing game, headlined by Eli Manning and Odell Beckham, will be vital. Not having Culliver would make the job much more complicated.
