Breaking Burgundy's analyst Paul Conner shares his scouting notes after watching film on the sure handed Tyler Boyd

Breaking Burgundy's Film Analyst Paul Conner will be in the lab crunching film on college prospects up until the 2016 NFL Draft. He will be sharing his notes on each player he watches throughout the process.

Tyler Boyd

Position: Wide receiver

College: Pittsburgh

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 200 lbs

Age: 21

(Analysis vs. Miami, Iowa, Louisville and North Carolina)

Strengths: Tyler Boyd has great hands and amazing body control. He is almost like Brandon Lloyd the way he is able to elevate and have his body end up in a bunch of weird positions but is still able to bring down the ball. Boyd also has an impressive catch radius because he uses his hands to pluck the ball out of the air away from his body. He works out of the slot and on the outside. Athletic guy who was also used in the backfield for handoffs and just sweeps. Boyd has surprising toughness. He isn't afraid to go across the middle. He also runs full speed lower his shoulder into defenders to get the extra yards. He has good speed, won't burn many, but his strong hands make him a threat on contested catches down the field. He has quick enough feet to become a solid route runner.

Concerns: Boyd needs to run his routes on a more consistent basis. He needs to sink his hips more consistently coming in and out of breaks. Because his hands are so good, he can get lazy with it at times. He is going to need to create a bit more separation at the next level. Boyd had an off-the-field issue that he hopefully has put behind him.

If drafted by the RedskinsJay Gruden made his money in Cincinnati with longer receivers like Mohamed Sanu, AJ Green, and Marvin Jones. Boyd fits this profile and would give Kirk Cousins a reliable target to catch rebounds in the red zone and win one-on-one situations. Scot McCloughan also has shown a desire to add some height on the outside.
