NFL Draft: Scouting Arkansas RB Alex Collins

Breaking Burgundy Analyst Paul Conner shares his scouting notes on Arkansas Running Back Alex Collins

Breaking Burgundy's Film Analyst Paul Conner will be in the lab crunching film on college prospects up until the 2016 NFL Draft. He will be sharing his notes on each player he watches throughout the process.

Alex Collins

Position: Running Back

College: Arkansas

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 215

Age: 21

(Analysis of games vs.Kansas State and Toldeo)

Positives: Alex Collins is a strong runner with good vision. He is able to bounce off tackles because he keeps his feet churning. Collins is a better north/south runner and has decent enough speed to break free if he gets space. He has enough wiggle to make people miss in the open field. He plays in an offense where the quarterback plays under center so he won't have to learn new reads. He is a willing blocker in pass protection.

Concerns: There aren't a ton on concerns on Alex Collins. He's a well-rounded back but has no elite traits. He's good but not great in many areas. I'd like to see his hands tested more.

If drafted by Redskins: Washington is going to need to find a compliment to the power of Matt Jones and the speed of Chris Thompson. Collins might be a name that comes up in the mid rounds.
