Anquan Boldin epitomizes NFL tough guy. With 1,009 receptions, 13,195 yards and 74 touchdowns, he defines productive. At 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, offers size and physicality. With 14 seasons in the league, Boldin brings experience.
Yet at 35, he's on closer to the end of his career. Since 2011, Boldin's yards per catch average has declined to 11.4 with San Francisco last season. Washington needs help beyond 2016 with Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson likely heading into free agency. That's not Boldin, but it could be a rookie.
Could a Boldin signing mean Garcon's days are up unless he renegotiates his hefty salary cap figure? Would his addition put the final nail in Andre Roberts' coffin? Does this make any sense considering his age and lack of great red-zone size or speed? Ben Standig talks with ScoutNow about the report from ESPN's John Keim and others.
