Report: Redskins host season opener on Monday Night Football

Kirk Cousins and the Redskins will open the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers according to a report. At home. On Monday Night Football.

The NFL will announce the 2016 league-wide schedule Tuesday night. One report pulled back the curtain on the Washington Redskins' first game. Not just any curtain, but a Steel Curtain.

The Redskins will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 on Monday Night Football, a source tells's Chick Hernandez.

Prime time results haven't been so great historically for the Redskins, but nobody will complain about getting to open the season on a big stage against one of the league's historic teams.

Of course, if the plan involved an AFC North team, seems like the Cleveland Browns would have truly cranked the volume to 11. Know your why, NFL schedule people.
