Redskins gamble on running back Keith Marshall in the seventh round

The Redskins drafted a boom-or-bust candidate with their final pick. Dan Roth with the words and Paul Conner on video talk about the home run threat.

Player: Keith Marshall

Position: RB

College: Georgia

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 218 pounds

NFL.com: "Marshall was a highly recruited running back who flashed massive potential as a freshman but never made his way back up the Georgia ladder due to injuries and incredible depth at the position over the last few years. Marshall could become a lottery ticket for a zone scheme team willing to take a chance that his speed and confidence return with a fresh start in a new location. His ceiling is much higher than many of the Day 3 running backs who could be drafted ahead of him."

Analysis: Marshall has the physical tools to prove far more worthy than a seventh-round draft pick. Marshall ran the fastest 40-yard dash among running backs, clocking in at 4.31. He also showed great strength by putting up 25 reps on bench press at the combine, good for the fourth-most at the position.  The ever-present question, though, is can he stay healthy? If you're going to gamble on a pick, the seventh round is perhaps the best place to do it.
