Redskins in the community: Jackson host softball game; Cousins youth camp

DeSean Jackson hosts a local softball game for a great cause for those who protected our country, while Kirk Cousins hangs out with DMV youth at a camp.

No practices for the Washington Redskins over the weekend, but that didn't keep players off various fields.

The most heavily concentrated spot among the Redskins involved the 4th Amputee Warrior Celebrity Softball Game in Bowie, MD on Saturday. DeSean Jackson and Bashaud Breeland captained the two teams, which included members of the Amputee Warrior Softball team, in the event designed to raise awareness and funds for military service men and women in need of prosthetics and orthotics.

Trent Williams, Will Compton, Houston Bates, Kedric Golston, Tress Way and Su'a Cravens were among the Redskins in attendance to support the cause and toss out friendly banter.

Compton handed out a few awards to teammates after the game. Not all agreed.

Though the players interacted with the fans, Cravens wasn't willing to grant every request.

On the other side of the Potomac River, Kirk Cousins held his football camp for kids at South County High School in Lorton, Virginia. Boys and girls in grades 1 through 8 were able to hang out Saturday and Sunday with the Redskins quarterback and maybe catch a pass from the the most accurate passer in the NFL last season.
