When it comes to the Josh Norman ad Odell Beckham Jr. rivalry heating up for 2016, no training camp is required. Words from the Giants wide receiver for an upcoming magazine interview have the battle in midseason form.
Beckham addressed the topic of Norman for the August edition of GQ and the former Panthers corner signing with an NFC East team. That means getting to face each other at least twice a year as opposed once a year sometimes. Was this relevant in Norman with Washington? "For sure," Beckham stated.
The 2015 matchup was the stuff of legend as the two aggressively and physically jousted throughout. Beckham eventually received a one-game suspension for a blow to Norman's head. That more of these matchups would take place once Norman signed with Washington didn't go unnoticed.
“It goes back to what I was saying,” Beckham said. “If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much. But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention that I don’t need. The reason he’s become so relevant is because of me.”
The first meeting is set for September 25. Enjoy.
