August 3, 2016, now known as "Redskins don't back down from Patrick Peterson Day."
After Josh Norman jabbed back at his fellow cornerback for shade thrown in his direction by Peterson, wide receiver DeSean Jackson counterpunched via his Twitter account after the Cardinals star talked tough about their previous meetings.
As he rebuffed comments from Peterson about his status among his peers, Norman mentioned the Arizona cornerback once gave up a long touchdown to Washington's playmaking receiver. This led to a day-long barrage of tweets from Redskins fans in Peterson's direction. He responded to one off them.
Sure enough, word went through the interwebs and the tweet made it's way in front of Jackson's eyes
That's Peterson trying to play nice. Alas, that probably won't work on "Redskins don't back down from Patrick Peterson Day.
Responding to a Cardinals fan backing up Peterson, Jackson tweeted, "I don't care who he responded 2 and u a fan I'm bout to respond to keep my damn name out yo mouth and worry bout yo own shit .."
Washington plays at Arizona on December 4. Until then...
