Source: Outside linebacker, tackle among Redskins cuts

Breaking Burgundy has begun tracking player cuts as the Redskins trim their roster from 90 to 75.

NFL teams must reduce their rosters from 90 to 75 by Tuesday. The Washington Redskins are getting a jump start.

Breaking Burgundy has learned that offensive tackle Al Bond and outside linebacker Shiro Davis were among the players released Saturday, according to sources.

Another outside linebacker, Willie Jefferson, was also waived, according to a report.

The Redskins announced other cuts: tackle Cody Booth, linebacker Ejiro Ederaine, cornerback Jeremy Harris, wide receiver Valdez Showers, wide receiver Dez Stewart, wide receiver Jarvis Turner, running back Kelsey Young

Davis, who played college ball at Texas, was among a group of raw outside linebacker prospects with the team in training camp, but he never seemed to gain momentum.

* Wide receiver Kendal Thompson, who made a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch in the second preseason game, has survived this wave of cuts, according to a source.
