Frank Talk: Week 1 NFL Picks

It's not just time for the NFL season, but weekly lines talk with our smart gaming guy Frank Hanrahan.

After a documented 38-29-1 record in 2015, I am back to put money in your pockets with my biggest five plays of the week!! That includes a weekly Redskins pick as well. So let's get right to it and line those pockets!

NY Giants at Dallas (+1)
When the odd makers set this line a few weeks ago thinking Tony Romo was healthy and going to start, the Cowboys were favored by 3.5. No Romo and yes to starting rookie Dax Prescott flipped the number in favor of the Giants. This seems way too obvious that the Giants will win against a rookie QB making his first start. That's why I am going the other way and taking Dallas +1.
New England (+6) at Arizona
Similar story with this matchup in the desert. With Tom Brady the line was a pick'em at Arizona. With Brady suspended the opening four games -- and no Rob Gronkowski -- the oddsmakers let us know that such a scenario changes the number by nearly a touchdown. Doesn't scare me. Even with Jimmy Garoppolo making his first start, give me the Pats +6.
Minnesota at Tennessee (+2.5)
Another QB twist! The desperate Vikings needed a quarterback after Teddy Bridgewater's devastating knee injury, so they acquired Sam Bradford. That doesn't matter for now as Shaun Hill starts the opener. All I hear is how bad Bradford is and how dumb the Vikes are for trading a first rounder for him and how no Bridgewater means no shot this season. That's why I am taking the Vikings -2.5 at Tennessee.
Miami (+10.5) at Seattle
I love taking the biggest favorite on the board because that number is there for a reason! The Seahawks adorn the largest point spread in the opening week as they are -10.5 hosting Miami. No-brainer and yes money play here. Seattle wins big.
Pittsburgh at Washington (+3)
Very little respect given to the Redskins on a Monday Night at home. Field goaldogs to a very good but not overly impressive Pittsburgh team? The Redskins offense is going to be good this season. Those weapons shine against the Steelers. Forget just focusing on the points. Redskins money line, yeah I'd play that as well.
