The Redskins returned to practice for the first time since Wednesday and coach Marty Schottenheimer pronounced his team ready to play. He hopes. Schottenheimer even shortened practice by 10 minutes because it had gone so crisply.

''It means everyone was concentrating,'' Schottenheimer said. ''We didn't have to go through things a second time. The focus was there. I kept looking at my watch and there was a point in time ahead of the clock. The end of practice went very quickly and briskly.''

Which is why Schottenheimer expects the Redskins to be ready to face Green Bay on Monday.
