Running back Mack Brown is progressing to the point he should practice this week, a source tells Breaking Burgundy.
Brown was checked for a concussion during Sunday's win at Philadelphia. The second-year player passed tests as of Tuesday afternoon, per the source. Head coach Jay Gruden announced Monday that Brown was in the league's concussion protocol program.
The Redskins announced several roster moves Tuesday afternoon, including defensive lineman Anthony Lanier landing on Injured Reserve after missing recent games with a shin/leg injury.
Washington signed linebacker Nick Moody to the 53-man roster while adding DL A.J. Francis and DB Shak Randolph to the practice squad. DL Trevon Coley and DB Lee Hightower were released from the 10-man PS roster.
All of Washington's injured players, including linebackers Will Compton and Su'a Cravens have an extra day to recover as the Redskins and Carolina Panthers don't meet until Monday night at FedEx Field.
With Compton (knee) and Cravens (elbow strain) uncertain if not unlikely for Monday's meeting, the Redskins added depth. Some background on Moody from Pro Football Talk:
Moody played three games for the Seahawks last season and 20 for the 49ers in 2013-14, but has not spent any time on the field this season. He was suspended for the first four games of the year and also dealt with some legal issues this offseason concerning his failure to appear to testify in former 49ers teammate Aldon Smith’s hit-and-run trial. Those issues were resolved when he eventually appeared.
