ASHBURN -- Linebacker Su'a Cravens (elbow strain) and inside linebacker Will Compton (PCL sprain) watched the portion of practice open to the media as the Washington Redskins began their on-field preparation for Monday night's matchup with the Carolina Panthers Thursday.
Frigid temperatures and soul-sapping wind pounded the Greater Washington area. Not all key contributors joined the fray inside the team's practice bubble, including the two linebackers. Both suffered injuries in Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Jay Gruden labeled both day to day, week to week during his Monday press conference. Gruden will provide updates Thursday afternoon.
Initial reports Sunday had Cravens dealing with a more serious injury. The rookie apparently avoided a worst case scenario, though he left Lincoln Financial Field with his right arm in a sling. The current outlook offers a "slim" chance Cravens play Monday, a source tells Breaking Burgundy, but the extra day of rest gives him a shot at facing Carolina.
Safety Will Blackmon (concussion), tight end Jordan Reed and running back Mack Brown were others practicing. Breaking Burgundy previously reported that Brown passed concussion test and would not miss any practice time barring a setback.
Reed (shoulder) was limited to 10 snaps against Philadelphia and had one catch.
While Brown returned, fellow RB Matt Jones was not seen at practice.
Check back for more updates following practice.
