Current players seem to be quite excited.
With the 17th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins selected Jonathan Allen, defensive lineman, Alabama. The big man slipped in the draft over shoulder concerns, but he was arguably a top five talent that fell into the lap of the Burgundy and Gold. His new teammates are certainly excited to have the local Stone Bridge High School, in Ashburn, Virginia, product back in the DMV.
Although the Cleveland Browns were reportedly inquiring about Kirk Cousins, the quarterback remains in Burgundy and Gold and was seemingly excited with the addition. Cousins is probably happiest he will not be hit by Allen in practice.
Others on the offensive end chimed in.
The quarterback of last year's defense, recently re-signed Will Compton knows that his job just got easier. Others on defense also shared their pleasure in the selection.
If Allen can live up to his talent ceiling and hype from his new football brothers, Washington will be laughing all the way to the bank at the bargain they ended with at pick No. 17.
