NFL Draft: Redskins Options On Day 2; Second Round Mock Draft

The Redskins are in position to knock out two more need areas with their two selections on the second day of the 2017 NFL Draft

The first round of the 2017 NFL Draft is over. Next up the second and third rounds. Here's my projection of the second round followed by names to consider for the Redskins on Day 2 from Philadelphia.

* Washington enters Friday with nine selections after selecting Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen with the 17th overall pick. It owns one selection in the second and third round with the other seven picks between rounds 4-7.

GB (Via CLE) - Kevin King, CB, Washington

SEA (Via SF) - Cam Robinson, OL, Alabama

JAX - Forrest Lamp, G, Western Kentucky

CHI - Budda Baker, S, Washington

LAR - Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina

LAC - Marcus Maye, S, Florida

NYJ - DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame

CAR - Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan

CIN - Dion Dawkins, G, Temple

NO - Jordan Willis, DE/OLB, Kansas State

PHI - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State

BUF - Curtis Samuel, WR, Ohio State

ARI - Davis Webb, QB, California

IND - Dan Feeney, G, Indiana

BAL - Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston

MIN - Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State

WAS - Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida

TB - Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma

DEN - Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama

CLE (TEN) - Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

DET - Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee

MIA - Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut

NYG - Antonio Garcia, G/T, Troy

OAK - Chris Wormley, DT, Michigan

HOU - Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan

SEA - Sidney Jones, CB, Washington

KC - Zach Cunningham, ILB, Vanderbilt

DAL - Marcus Williams, S, Utah

GB - Ryan Anderson, OLB, Alabama

PIT - Nate Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh

ATL - Juju Schuster-Smith, WR, USC

CAR (Via NE) - Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama

WAS - Raekwon McMillian, ILB, Ohio State

* The Redskins addressed their biggest need with the first round selection of Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen. That means they really can just go off their board; Other than offensive tackle, every position needs some level of help.

* The 6-foot-1 Wilson impressed last season at Florida, where his secondary coach -- Torrian Gray -- now holds the position with the Redskins. Josh Norman rocks, but Bashaud Breeland becomes a free agent in 2018. Wilson could serve as a nickelback while adjusting to the league.

* Other selections that could make sense in round two: Houston pass rusher Tyus Bowser, Connecticut safety Obi Melifonwu, Vanderbilt inside linebacker Zack Cunningham, Indiana guard Dan Feeney, Utah safety Marcus Williams.

* Selecting McMillian in the third would provide depth at a position where the top three options are entering free agency next season. Other prospects in this round include Auburn defensive lineman Montravius Adams, Utah guard Issac Asiata and Toledo running back Kareem Hunt,
