The NFL Draft is over and the work to get all the rookies ready for the NFL begins. For the Washington Redskins that means first round pick Jonathan Allen and nine other players selected in the 2017 draft. The same scenario exists for the other 31 NFL teams of which the Redskins will face 13 including each NFC East rival twice. Let's begin taking a look at the interesting matchups and scenarios involving the new guys.
Who: Los Angeles Rams
When: Week 2: Sunday, September 17 at 4:25 pm on FOX
Where: Los Angeles Coliseum
* 2nd round -- Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
* 3rd round -- Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
* 4th round -- Joshua Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
Major matchup: Despite numerous defensive options on the board, McVay decided to double dip into the tight end pool after the Rams had already spent a fourth-round pick on Tyler Higbee last year. McVay has clearly had success with tight ends last year in Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis and Everett is an athletic mismatch for linebackers and safeties that will be a passing threat for Goff immediately.
Keep an eye
Don't forget: Another big receiver at 6-foot-3, Reynolds is more of a vertical threat and also has the speed to gain yards after the catch, which can be seen by his 17 yards per catch during his three years for the Aggies. Reynolds would have been selected earlier in the draft were it not for some drops that plagued him in the past.
