The NFL Draft is over and the work to get all the rookies ready for the NFL begins. For the Washington Redskins that means first round pick Jonathan Allen and nine other players selected in the 2017 draft. The same scenario exists for the other 31 NFL teams of which the Redskins will face 13 including each NFC East rival twice. Let's begin taking a look at the interesting matchups and scenarios involving the new guys.
Who: Dallas Cowboys
When: Week 8: Sunday, October 29 at 4:25 pm on FOX; Week 13: Thursday, November 30 at 8:25 pm on NBC
Where: FedEx Field
* 1st round -- Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
* 2nd round -- Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
* 3rd round -- Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
Major matchup: Although still relatively raw in his development, there was so much hype around Charlton that some thought he may be able to go as high as No. 9 to the Bengals. Tyrone Crawford and Demarcus Lawrence will likely start, but Trent Williams and Morgan Moses can expect a lot of Charlton, especially in the run game as his pass rush game is still catching up to NFL form.
Keep an eye
Don't forget: Dallas has a history of taking risks on players with off the field issues, (i.e. Greg Hardy), and that is the case with Lewis as well as he was charged with domestic violence. His trial begins on July 24. Lewis has the talent to be a good cornerback, but Dallas may or may not have his services when it counts.
- Weeks 1 and 7: Philadelphia Eagles
- Week 2: Los Angeles Rams
- Week 3: Oakland Raiders
- Week 4: Kansas City Chiefs
- Week 5: BYE
- Week 6: San Francisco 49ers
