STUDS AND DUDS
DUDS --Offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye. There's no rhyme or reason to his offense. Maybe it's the personnel, but there doesn't seem to be much imagination in the play-calling. Hey, Jimmy, your quarterback has a strong arm. Use it. --Strong safety Sam Shade. Gave up too many receptions, including a 12-yard touchdown strike. But on the 22-yard fourth and two completion, don't give him too much grief. The Redskins had prepared for that play out of a different formation, with the corners having the responsibility Shade ultimately had on that play. --Quarterback Jeff George. Let's quit throwing five yards shy of the first down on every third down. --Center Cory Raymer. Could not handle Gilbert Brown's heavy load. --Corner Champ Bailey. Had a couple holding penalties and allowed a 41-yard touchdown reception when he slipped covering a slant. --Punter Bryan Barker. Shanked a 12-yard punt, setting up another inglorious night for special teams. --Returner Michael Bates. Fumbled a kickoff that was returned for a touchdown. Also misjudged a few punts, seeming uncomfortable in that role. --Everyone else. At least except Davis. What an ugly night.
