Smoot has shot at record

Last Monday night, Washington Redskins cornerback FRED SMOOT became the fifth NFL rookie since 1990 to record an interception in each of his first two games.

Last Monday night, Washington Redskins cornerback FRED SMOOT became the fifth NFL rookie since 1990 to record an interception in each of his first two games. This Sunday against Kansas City, Smoot can become the first player since TERRY JACKSON and JOHN ANDERSON in 1978 to make an interception in his first three games.

Jackson accomplished the feat in each of his first four games. Following are the five rookies since 1990 with an interception in each of their first two games:
