Preseason Schedule Announced

The Redskins won't have to wait long to see how old friend Champ Bailey is faring. Nor will the Broncos have to wait to see how well Clinton Portis can run for another team.

The Redskins will open the preseason schedule against the Denver Broncos in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 9 in Canton, Ohio, making Joe Gibbs the first Hall of Fame member to coach in this game. The Redskins and Broncos engaged in a blockbuster deal this offseason, with Washington sending Bailey and a second-round pick to Denver in exchange for Portis.

Washington will then host defending NFC champion Carolina the following week, date and time to be determined. The Redskins follow that with a trip to Miami the week of Aug. 19-23 and then they host St. Louis in a nationally televised game on Aug. 27.

The Redskins end the preseason by hosting Atlanta, again the time and date to be determined.
