Mini Camp Report

The Redskins gather for their second minicamp under Joe Gibbs, starting today.

When: Today through Sunday; from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET the first two days and from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. It's the second of three minicamps the Redskins can have because they have a new coach.

Who won't participate: Trung Canidate (foot), Derrick Dockery (shoulder), Walt Harris (knee), Brandon Noble (knee), Cliff Russell (knee), Chris Samuels (shoulder) and Randy Thomas (knee). Some of these players may take part in individual drills, but not full workouts.

Who will: Everyone else, including the rookies. It's the first chance to see how the four rookies look: Sean Taylor, Chris Cooley, Mark Wilson and Jim Molinaro. Also, this is the first workout that other key players will participate in, including corner Shawn Springs, linebacker Marcus Washington, linebacker Michael Barrow and receiver James Thrash.

What to watch for: Does Taylor immediately join the starting lineup? (Our answer: probably not; make him earn it this summer, or at least wait to give it to him until then). How is Mark Brunell working with the wideouts? How is LaVar Arrington being used? How does Springs look in coverage? Is he still suffering from ailments?

Updates: Look for phone updates during the workout and for a posted update on how everyone looked during practice approximately 1 hour after practice ends.
