Who Will be the Redskins GM?

Scratch Ron Wolf's name off the list of potential candidates to be Washington's general manager. Wolf, the former general manager in Green Bay, said he doesn't want to join the Redskins.

''At this juncture, I do not have an interest in the job,'' said Wolf, who lives in Annapolis, Md. ''No one from the Redskins has contacted me, nor do I expect anyone to. . . I had the perfect job with the Packers.''

The Redskins could have trouble finding a GM. They reportedly have hit an obstacle with Bobby Beathard and friends of Beathard say it might be too much to overcome. Also, Rich McKay has told people in Tampa that he would not have any interest in the job if he gets fired, as expected, along with Tony Dungy.

But here are two names to watch: Kansas City's director of pro personnel, Billy Kuharich, and Tampa's director of player personnel, Tim Ruskell, who served as director of scouting for the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits from 1985-86--when Spurrier was the coach.
