Redskins Daily 12/15

Kicker John Hall has joined the list of Redskins whose season has ended. He injured a quad in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia and will be placed on injured reserve.

The Redskins will sign kicker Jeff Chandler, who has appeared in 10 games during a three-year career. He's made 14 of 21 field goals, including 4 of 9 from 40 yards and beyond. He last kicked earlier this season with Carolina and also kicked two years with San Francisco.

Hall missed five games earlier this season with a groin injury. He also battled leg problems in training camp.

The Redskins contacted Ola Kimrin, but he had just returned to Sweden and would need to apply for another visa, preventing a speedy trip.

. . . Linebacker LaVar Arrington practiced again today, even taking some snaps with the first team defense. But he remains questionable for Saturday's game at San Francisco. And even if he does play, it likely would be in a limited role.

But coach Joe Gibbs expressed more hope that Arrington would be available. Arrington tried to supress his optimisim.

''I'm not going to be selfish,'' Arrington said. ''I'll leave it up to them. If they feel I'm healthy enough to go and can help the team, that's what I'll do.''

. . . Corner Shawn Springs said he was still feeling the affects of Sunday's concussion.

''I feel good, but I'm just a little slower than normal,'' he said. ''I feel like I just woke up from a nap. That's how I'm walking around right now, like I've been sleeping for a while.''

Springs said that's one of the hardest hits he's taken in the NFL. Yes, he's watched a replay of the hit.

''I asked Bubba, 'Did I make a game-saving tackle,' '' Springs said. ''He said, 'Yeah, you did.' Then I get home at 5:30 or 6 in the morning and I'm watching Sportscenter and the dude killed me. I'm like, 'Damn, Bubba, why didn't you tell me I got killed.' He said, 'It's not the time to tell you when you're on a stretcher.' ''
